Description
Ten designs. Two sizes. Support community art with a little piece of Portland’s musical history.
Every June 21, Make Music Portland invited musicians of every sort to help turn the city into one enormous, free, open-air celebration of sound.
From neighborhood parks and downtown squares to cafés, sidewalks, and unexpected corners of the city, the annual summer-solstice festival brought together performers, listeners, and the occasionally courageous passerby willing to pick up an instrument.
Over the years, the celebration developed its own collection of posters, each capturing a particular moment in the life of Portland’s independent music community.
Now, Subletter Press is bringing ten selected designs back into print. All proceeds go to Make Music Portland.
A small archive of big, noisy summer days.
Choose from ten designs spanning more than five years of Make Music Portland’s history. Each poster is available in two sizes, framed or unframed, and produced on demand.
Whether you’re commemorating a festival you attended, celebrating Portland’s creative community, or simply looking for something colorful to put on your wall, these prints offer a little piece of the city’s musical past.

About Make Music Portland
First organized in Portland, Maine, in 2013, Make Music Portland is part of the international Make Music Day movement, inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.
Its premise is beautifully simple: music should be accessible to everyone, and anyone who wants to make some should be encouraged to do so.
These prints celebrate the people, places, and performances that helped make that idea a reality in Portland. All proceeds from sales of these prints go directly to Make Music Portland to fund music education and their annual summer festival.
Printed on demand by Subletter Press. Made for walls that could use a little music.
